Washington Nonprofit Network has launched!
We are state and IRS-official and our nonprofit directory is in beta testing!
Today, serial entrepreneur Dana Neuts announced the beta launch of the Washington Nonprofit Network, an online directory and community to help small- and medium-sized nonprofits expand their reach to get in front of more prospective donors and volunteers, increasing their impact on their communities.
Neuts launched the business alongside her daughter Bee Blozis, who is the organization’s co-founder and director of marketing. Neuts and Blozis worked on the idea over the summer, but it became official this week when the Washington Nonprofit Network LLC received its certificate of formation from the Washington Secretary of State and IRS-issued employer identification number.
Focused on 501(c)3 nonprofits in Washington State, the online directory site has been under construction for the last month and is now in beta testing. The site’s current features include directory listings at three different levels (basic, deluxe and premium), event listings, and a blog that will feature ideas, nonprofit spotlights, and other content useful to small- and medium-sized nonprofits. Advertising and sponsorship opportunities will be available to nonprofits and related businesses and organizations.
As the business grows, the plan is to add an online community feature for members to connect with and learn from each other. Washington Nonprofit Network is considering adding a job board and grant opportunities for members in 2025. The business also hopes to partner with complementary organizations offering support to nonprofits.
Neuts has more than three decades of experience working with nonprofit organizations, including volunteer, board and leadership positions. She passed her passion for nonprofit organizations onto Blozis, and the mother-daughter team found a way to continue this work with a joint project.
“There are over 33,000 501(c)3 nonprofits in the state of Washington, according to ProPublica, some who have large budgets and extensive resources. They can get in front of their target audiences more easily and effectively,” said Neuts. “Those with limited budgets and staff, however, have a harder time expanding their reach to prospective donors and volunteers. Our goal is to use our decades of marketing and nonprofit experience to help smaller nonprofits grow their visibility.”
This is the third business for Neuts. She launched Virtually Yourz, a writing, editing and marketing firm, in 2004, and she founded and ran iLoveKent.net from 2007 to 2017. Neuts no longer owns iLoveKent.net, but it continues to thrive under the ownership of South King Media and Scott and Theresa Schaefer. Blozis has worked with Virtually Yourz for about a decade, honing their writing, editing and social media marketing skills.
